ICHEC

The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) is the national centre for High-Performance Computing (HPC) in Ireland and provides HPC platform, optimisation and software solutions expertise to academia, industry and state bodies, through collaborative partnerships. The work at ICHEC involves the use of HPC-aided techniques such as computer modelling, data management, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, performance engineering and quantum computing to develop solutions for a wide range of domains including environmental sciences, geophysics, healthcare and others.

The national Quantum Programming Ireland (QPI) initiative led by ICHEC since 2018 focuses on:

1. R&D in quantum software and applications for programming quantum computing platforms.
2. Systems and software integration of quantum computing platforms with classical HPC systems.
3. Education and training to academic and enterprise organisations for quantum programming.
